This course provides an overview and discussion of wet-laid cementitious underlayments as it relates to the construction industry. We start by defining the material composition and performance characteristics of cementitious based underlayments while also covering some installation best practices. Next, we will evaluate wet-laid cementitious based underlayments as it pertains to industry code requirements and evaluations especially for both fire and acoustical performance. Finally, the program will provides architectural specification best practices describes while closing by comparing wet-laid limestone cementitious based underlayments to the traditional gypsum underlayments currently on the US market.
